High pressure briefly builds in on Saturday with temperatures about 5 degrees below average as high temps only reach the middle to upper 40s.
A wave of low pressure will develop just south of the area resulting in periods of rain moving in from the southwest as early as evening on Saturday. For colder areas in the Lower Hudson Valley, precipitation may fall as freezing rain as it begins Saturday night, but will transition to plain rain by Sunday morning.
Periods of rain will continue through much of the day on Sunday before clearing out by Sunday night.
